"It has served, unlike any other bomber, through all of the Second World War. It had become a legend in its time. A tribute to the men who had conceived, designed, and built it-and a monument to the remarkable young men, most of them boys who flew it. These men, and this plane, accomplished one of the most frightening missions ever demanded of men and aircraft. Together they helped end history's last "Glorious War".

"The Force Behind The Force"
"...our Air Force belongs to those who come from the ranks of labor, management, the farms, the stores, the professions and colleges and legislative halls...Air power will always be the business of every American citizen." - General Hap Arnold (CLICK ON AFA LOGO FOR WEBSITE)
Originally established back in 1947, a year after the Air Force Association offical establishement in 1946 by General Hap Arnold, the Miami AFA Chapter operated until the early 1970's at which time for various reasons the Chapter went into an "inactive mode". In 1985 under the leadership and direction of Col. Stan Bodner a A-26 Bombarider / Navigator and accompained by Eastern Airline CEO Col. Frank Bormann, the Miami Chapter was once again re-actived and stood up and continues strong to this day. A great deal of apperication and admiration goes out to our present and current Chapter member Col. Stan Bodner and his efforts and vision to re-start the Miami 317th Chapter that helps serve the local Miami community, troops and veterans. In January 2011 The Miami Chapter merged with the Homestead Chapter. The combined chapters are known today as the Miami-Homestead Chapter 317.
